Jane’s duets: Ne-Yo live show in China
Ne-Yo live show in China: it’s the first time ! The collaboration between Jane Zhang and Ne-Yo seems destined to last over time and is renewed with an exceptional participation by the American artist at the New Year’s Eve Concert live broadcasted by Zhejiang satellite TV.
The 2018 Zhejiang Satellite TV New Year’s Eve Concert (2018 领跑演唱会) was held last December 30th in Shenzhen at the “China Resources Shenzhen Bay Sports Center Stadium” known as Spring Cocoon Stadium (春茧), that for this event was packed with people. The concert hosted, among many Chinese music stars, also the American king of the R & B.
Shenzhen
Shenzhen is located north of Hong Kong in Guangdong province, it’s one of the richest cities in the country and is the first SEZ (Special Economic Zone) of China. The Special Economy Zones are geographical regions that adopt economic legislation different from that of the country they belong to and are usually created to attract more foreign investments. This metropolis with its hectic economy has turned into one of the fastest growing metropolitan cities and is known for its industrial complexes and countless businesses.
Jane Zhang and Ne-Yo: Amazing
The collaboration between Jane Zhang and Ne-Yo began in August last year when the R & B icon writes for Jane both the lyrics and the music of the song “Amazing” that becomes the theme song of the video game “Three Kingdoms 2017“(三國志2017), published by Koei Tecmo Games, played by Jane Zhang, which then will also record the Chinese version rewriting the lyrics.
Angels and Harmony
Subsequently, the two artists work together once again to the realization of “Angels and Harmony” (here the official video), original music chosen by 20th Century Fox to promote in China the US Sci-Fi blockbuster “The War – Planet of the Apes“. The piece, music by Trevor Wesley and Jesse Wilson and lyrics by Ne-Yo, is played by Jane precisely with the latter and is entirely in English. Collects a great success in China, but is virtually unknown to western fans by the American artist.
Jane Zhang and Ne-Yo live: on stage together
Jane wanted Ne-Yo at the New Year’s Eve concert and obviously could not miss their duet in the interpretation of “Angels and Harmony” in which Jane began singing first and then appears on stage Ne-Yo with his distinctive hat.
The first participation of the king of R & B at a concert in China had no echo in the Western media and, therefore, I think this movie will be a pleasant surprise for fans of Ne-Yo.
Ne-Yo: Because of You
Ne-Yo, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, is an exceptional musical talent and absolute icon of R & B, Soul, Hip hop and dance pop of the first decade of the 2000s, and enjoys an enviable series of collaborations and pieces written for superstars such as Rihanna, Celine Dion, Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Anastacia, Leona Lewis, Mary J. Blige, Usher, the Backstreet Boys, The Pussycat Dolls, 50 Cent, Timbaland and David Guetta.
Singer, songwriter, dancer and music producer, Ne-Yo is a native of Arkansas, and has to his credit six studio albums. Among them, “Because of You” single of 2007. The song was composed by him, M. T. Eriksen and Hermansen and is the second best-known piece by the US after the hit “So Sick“. “Because of You” peaked at no. 2 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the USA and the no. 4 in the UK classification.
Here is its rendition of “Because of You” at the concert in China last December 30th.
Sexy Jane
On the Shenzhen stage we could enjoy a Jane Zhang in super sexy version wrapped in a long white dress with a high slit that departed from waist and decorated pantyhose that, from a distance, looked like stockings held up by an intriguing garter belt.
Although it was not in good health due to gastroenteritis, Jane has wowed the audience with “Work For It“, the second song of her English album presented for the first time at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2017 and immediately in the top 10 downloads of iTunes USA, “I Believe” (我相信), third track of the album “Believe in Jane” of 2010 and the famous signature song by our Dolphin Princess, and finally “Sad People Shouldn’t Listen to Slow Songs” (伤心的人别听慢歌) by MayDay, sung for the first time live after the overwhelming performance of last November 3 during the second episode of Sound of My Dream 2.
